Site MapIBUKI products have a common theme: we specialize in providing software, structured data and web services for building AI agents IBUKI's mission is to be the leading source of symbolic (as opposed to generative) AI software to facilitate the building of autonomous AI agents. It is not that IBUKI is buried in the past and does not recognize both the intellectual and commercial power of generative AI. Instead, IBUKI is focused on preparing its customers for what comes next. What is an Autonomous AI AgentWe can think of an autonomous AI agent as a robot, like Data of Star Wars fame. He(?)'s clearly not biological (artificial) and has encyclopedic knowledge of many things (intelligence) but what really distinguishes Data from an ordinary computer application is that his understanding and judgements of the world is his own (autonomy). That property makes his obversations of our world more interesting and useful to us than if he were simply to be something that parrots what he has been told. This is the critical difference between an 'autonomous AI agent' and an 'smart/AI application. To put this into the current context: IBUKI believes that generative AI (e.g., using LLMs) is only capable of being an AI application and in our opinion will never grow up to be an autonomous AI agent. IBUKIs goal is to bring you software that will make AI agents commonplace. The question is 'what kind of software is this?' The NEWFOL FrameworkNEWFOL is a development framework for building AI agents. It consists of two parts: tools for developing the interior of an agent—that includes making and modifying an agent's state (IBML types); and, tools for writing programs that sit on an agent's boundry and interact with its exterior—programs that communicate with other agents or use sensors and affectors to understand its world. IBUKIs products include the NEWFOL Framework and associated runtimes, prebuilt 'mental' models including both 'common ground' knowledge and specialized subjects knowledge. |
